Abstract :
The paper describes a signalling project that brought about a significant culture change to a large number of stakeholders. What is most interesting is that the need for this culture change came about as a result of simply changing the method of train detection. It also discusses the involvement that human factors had on the project and in particular how it contributed to the arguments within the safety case. This will all be in the context of the role as Lead Independent Safety Assessor for the project.
