Abstract :
Radio resource allocation is important in the relay enhanced cellular network. Some smart radio resource allocation schemes have been proposed, such as the "pre-configured and fixed" scheme (H. Hu et al., 2004). In this paper, we propose a new scheme by introducing reuse partitioning into the cellular network with fixed two-hop relay nodes. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that, in comparison with the conventional cellular network and the scheme proposed in H. Hu et al., (2004), our scheme not only improves the system capacity, but also provides better QoS (quality of service) for users located near cell edges. Moreover, since in our scheme resources are dynamically allocated among relay nodes, more benefits can be obtained under the non-uniform traffic distribution in comparison with the scheme in H. Hu et al., (2004), of which the resources are allocated in a fixed way
