Abstract :
Many protocols have been proposed separately for ad hoc networks from an energy efficiency or a security perspective. In this paper we propose a novel integrated protocol for improving both energy efficiency and security. The proposed sector-based clustering and routing (SBCR) protocol increases the survivability of the network and also provides better security due to multipath routing. Nodes requiring higher levels of security have more routing options available than nodes with lower levels of security
