Abstract
Development of solar buildings can have an essential contribution to the sustainable development of the society through promoting distributed photovoltaic stations. This paper discusses the premises of implementing the new architectural concepts, including active (PV and thermo solar generators) or passive (lighting) solar systems. As an example, the project Promotion of Solar Architecture in Romania-PASOR is synthetically presented. In this project activities are very well defined: creating a project Web site, delivering of technical information, data and solutions for the specialists as well as raising public and local authority awareness aiming at overcoming the psycho-social barriers associated to using renewable energy sources, and also for their documentation, visits to some demo installations in Bucharest and Timisoara
