Abstract
Link aggregation, which was standardized by the IEEE 802.3ad Working Group, is the bonding of two or more links into a single link that appears as a single, higher-bandwidth logical link. In this paper, we propose Dynamic L2 distribution, which distributes the traffic among links according to the traffic situation and the connection priority in order to better utilize link bandwidth and to protect high priority traffic. Dynamic L2 distribution is designed to avoid link change of high priority traffic, minimize the number of link changeovers and equalize the number of link changeovers among low priority connections. To maximize efficiency, we consider and simulate the relation between bandwidth utilization and the control parameters of Dynamic L2 distribution
