Abstract :
The paper reviews the calibration procedure for III-V multi-junction concentrator cells used at Fraunhofer ISE. This includes the measurement of the spectral response and the technique of spectrometric characterization under one-sun intensity level. The high light intensity calibration is performed using a flash simulator. It is discussed how the spectrum of the flash simulator influences the determined efficiency versus concentration ratio. Concentrator modules are measured outdoors. Taking a FLATCONreg test module with a maximum efficiency of 26.8 % as example, the distribution of measured outdoor efficiencies is discussed. Finally, it is shown how the temperature of the cells in the module can be derived using the indoor cell measurements
