Abstract
In this paper, a novel finite impulse response fitting- based approach for the design of 1-D stable IIR digital filters is proposed. First of all, the design algorithm is formulated in detail, and then the very low computation complexity being approximate to that of designing FIR filters is evaluated. Two illustrative design examples are also given to show that the proposed method is able to yield filter performances comparable with other known approaches
