Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate the spatial fading correlation and symbol error rate (SER) performance of M-ray phase shift keying (MPSK) with maximal ratio combining (MRC) for a uniform circular antenna array (UCA) and a uniform linear antenna array (ULA). The spatial fading correlation and SER performance of a circular antenna array are the functions of radius of circular array, the AOA energy distribution, and the central angle of arrival. Analysis shows that the SER performance is mainly determined by the eigenvalues of the fading correlated matrix, and the method that we investigate in this paper can be used to investigate the fading correlation and SER results for UCA and ULA. Results show that the two AOA energy distributions give the similar spatial fading correlation and SER performance for the same scattering angle
