Abstract :
Multiple access and multipath fading present major challenges for UWB in terms of both technological capability and implementation complexity. In this paper, we develop a multipath-free scheme, which provides a simple approach to select samples of received signals. By this scheme, the subsequent multiuser detection (MUD) would escape from the mismatch due to the correlative multipath signal in impulse ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) multiuser systems. In addition, a computationally efficient recursive least squares (RLS) type algorithm based on least mean fourth (LMF) criterion is derived to suppress multiaccess interference. The proposed multiuser receiver exhibits good performance at low complexity, even in dense multipath environment
