Abstract
A 5-phase model is suggested for innovating new products, new processes and services for high-tech organizations. The model includes a series of work flow described in each phases starting with initial idea generation and description of the program. The role of the strategic technology management is to orchestrate and integrate all the activities within the program. This paper will present the whole process and draw a typical model for a product development adaptable for organizational structure. The model emphasizes a "work-flow" approach and focuses on regular evaluation and assessment of decisions, outputs and limitations in each step for reducing potential risks. Other characteristics of the model are given as follows: focused on customer and stake-holder satisfaction; covers the whole process; adapted from the best-practices; combines all the functions within the organization, such as engineering, manufacturing, support, services, purchasing, management, control etc
