Abstract :
We apply a semi-parametric estimator for binary discrete response data to the estimation of a dichotomous choice contingent valuation model. This estimator is based on the statistical modeling of so-called current status data in biostatistics. This methodology can be used without making non-theoretically motivated assumptions on consumer´ preferences. The approach is illustrated using a contingent valuation survey of willingness to pay for next generation converged communications and broadcasting services
