Abstract
In this work, we discuss a new design methodology to generate monotonic frequency-response filter. A particular type of continued fraction expansion in two-variables, which is physically realizable, is considered. This enables us to generate a two-variable stable transfer function in the analog domain. The coefficient conditions of the generalized bilinear transformation are adjusted so that monotonic magnitude frequency response is obtained in the 2-D digital domain. Suitable examples are provided
