Abstract :
Based on MRLA, a novel algorithm of 2-D DOA estimation by matrix enhancement and matrix pencil (MEMP) is proposed. Firstly, constructing a L-shape arrays by two RMRLA and using fourth-order cumulant to compute the covariance matrix of output of the two RMRLA and construct the cross cumulant matrix, and then estimate the 2-D DOA by the MEMP method. Using a new algorithm makes the 2-D angles pairing automatically. Without spectral peak searching, the method increases the valid aperture of the arrays. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated through some simulation examples
