  • Abstract
    Object-oriented method is an efficient way to deal with many complicated applications. Agent, a special object with properties of autonomy, cooperation and communication, is especially useful for intelligent system applications. This paper introduces an object-oriented pattern recognition (OOPR) approach, i.e., to apply object oriented concept to pattern recognition. Based on this approach, its further development, agent-oriented pattern recognition (AOPR) approach is proposed. Its application to a rose variety recognition project is presented which demonstrate the effectiveness of the AOPR approach compared with OOPR
