Abstract :
The science data generated by five instruments onboard the Space Solar Telescope is about 1728 GB per day. This particularly demands a high-speed onboard data handling system. SpaceWire, a new serial data link standard proposed by the European Space Agency, will be introduced. It will undertake the arduous tasks to transmit the huge amount of data from the five instruments to SDPU. In this paper, we analyze the superior performance of SpaceWire and the requirement of the SST project; then present a point-to-point communication system in the link layer based on FPGA and DSP. We also made a simulation and verification on the function of the whole system.
