Abstract
The declining birthrate and ageing population are raising concerns for developed countries like Japan and Australia. Similar to these countries, Singapore is also fast facing these issues. The study of reproduction then becomes important in many perspectives such as socially and economically. Over the recent decades, many mathematical and computational models of spermatozoa swimming in female reproductive tract have been derived to assist in the understanding of this field of study. In this paper, a brief review of existing models´ methodology, their described parameters, possible future research directions in the application to human reproduction will be discussed in turn. It is hoped that with these models and understandings can supplement the much needed research work to be embarked in reproduction in countries like Singapore.
