Abstract
We describe a work in progress exploring alternative visual styles for augmented reality (AR). We outline a novel AR system incorporating a SLAM camera tracker that constructs and updates a visual map of the user´s environment in real-time. Using this map we demonstrate insertion of specular virtual objects into the scene and initial steps towards temporally coherent painterly stylisation of the user´s environment.
