Abstract
The electric service interruption causes losses to the consumers. The amount of loss is higher than the bill that would be required to pay by the consumers. This loss can be reduced by increasing the reliability of electric supply. The paper evaluates the losses of the consumers and compares with the utility bill with a view to create awareness among both the consumers and the utility planners. The results deserve the serious consideration of the consumers and the utilities
