Abstract :
A type of parametric amplifier is described that may in some circumstances offer advantages over the usual JFET preamplifier for low-noise front-end amplification of signals from such devices as Si, Ge, and gaseous ionization detectors. A particular advantage is low power dissipation at the front end.
