Abstract :
This paper addresses the problem of how to service "http" requests in order to minimize the user-perceived Web response time. We applied the hybrid SRPT (shortest remaining processing time) scheduling policy and some dispatching algorithms to handle the requests with priorities from clients. The network consists of any Web servers and a database server and we assigned the priorities to all requests. The request classification is applied to separate the requests by content-based service differentiating (X. Chen and P. Mohapatra, 2002), To evaluate the performance of Internet server, we consider two points: the response time and fairness of all requests.
