Abstract :
Telecommunication devices are getting smaller and smaller, thus the size of the antenna which is the heart of the communication must be small too. Microstrip antenna was developed to fit this criteria. In this paper, a new E-shaped driver based on the quasi-Yagi antenna is presented. This microstrip antenna is realized on a dielectric-constant substrate with epsir = 4.4. The size of the new proposed design is only 70 mm in width, 80 mm in length and 1.62 mm in thickness. Operating frequency runs from 1.6 GHz to 3.1 GHz which covers many applications such as mobile phone, WLAN, Bluetooth, and 3G.
