Abstract
With the recent increase in demand for mobile multimedia services in wireless mobile communication networks, the mobile broadband wireless access (MBWA) technologies are gradually coming into the spotlight. The commercialized model of these technologies is WiBro (wireless broadband Internet) service. In this access networks, it will be important to support not only the seamless mobility for unicast traffic but also the mobility support of the multicast service flows, because the service providers (SPs) can offer the various multimedia services to several mobile hosts by means of multicasting scheme. So, in this paper, we propose a handover scheme for an efficient and reliable multicast routing over WiBro networks. Our simulation results show that the proposed scheme has the good performance in terms of the number of lost packet and the frequency of multicast group joining.
