Abstract :
The significant increase in wind power connected to supply networks introduces additional issues in the assessment of network capacity. This paper looks at the assessment of loading on transmission network elements where significant wind generation capacity has been installed. Due to the stochastic nature of wind generation, extreme conditions (e.g. maximum wind generation, minimum load) can occur, but the probability of the occurrence of such conditions is also important. The probability analysis of the effect of wind power on a transmission networks is investigated using Monte Carlo simulation
