Abstract :
This paper presents estimate the rotor position and speed of switched reluctance motor (SRM) based on hybrid observer (HO). This algorithm has been simulated with MATLAB/SIMULINK for nonlinear model of SRM and has been compared with current sliding mode observer (CSMO) and flux linkage sliding mode observer (FSMO). Simulation results show that proposed observer will estimate the rotor position and speed with high resolution for wide speed range (near zero speeds - rated speed). This observer has the advantages of robustness, high precision and without extra hardware, drive performance has been improved.
