Abstract :
In media production, there are a flood of tools for visual and audio contents. however, these tools are not suitable for cross-media professionals. For instance, computer graphics professionals who attempt to deal with sound lack a suitable audio tool as most tools were designed for sound specialists only. Audio tools have recently integrated with some computer graphics packages such as game engine and computer animation software. It provides animators an easy way to accomplish a soundtrack for their animations. Nevertheless, these tools aim at providing an automatic process but not considering issues of human factor such as adding personal preference and inspiration through the tools. In this paper, we propose an approach of using schematic interface by considering similarity of computer animation software and digital audio tool. We aim at providing animators a new gateway to add personality and aesthetics properly in sound through their experience of using schematic networks in existing animation software. We demonstrate our idea through several examples of possible artistic usage, such as importance sound, inverse importance effect, energetic sound, and sputtering effect.
