Abstract
Human emotions are conveyed through various means. However, it is not always easy to convey one´s feelings exactly as intended. Facial expressions are one effective means of communicating emotion. Thus, the present study attempts to support the conveyance of facial expressions that convey the emotions of the user through a 3D face synthesized on a computer. For that purpose, an emotion map is proposed as an interface for selecting facial expressions, and in order to apply the Emotion Map to text reading, a Facial Expression Selection System is implemented. In addition, an evaluation experiment is conducted to evaluate the efficiency of this system.
