Abstract :
This paper describes a new method for estimating rotor surface losses in small to medium capacity synchronous machines. In this study, the authors have not only proposed the estimating method slot ripple loss induced on the rotor surface, but also have implemented to compare the various kinds of damper systems using finite element method (FEM) and verified the results by the measured data.
