Abstract
This paper describes the major market applications supporting the energy and reserve capacity markets of the new wholesale electricity market (WEM) in the South West Interconnected System (SWIS) of Western Australia. The Wholesale Electricity Market was commenced on 21 September 2006, within 14 months after award of the market systems contract. This paper presents the implementation algorithms and numerical results of the new wholesale electricity market.
