  • Abstract
This paper describes strategies for a future power transmission line interconnection route going toward South Korea in Northeast Asia (NEA). These interconnection routes can be selected depending on scenarios involving possible power transmission lines in NEA. In South Korea, the power capacity can compensate with reserve power by the utilization of seasonal load patterns for each country or by the construction of additional power plant in NEA for the future power shortages faced by the metropolitan areas or by the southeastern area of the South Korea. In this paper, strategies for future power system interconnection routs in Northeast Asia (NEA) are presented for various cases of power system interconnections. These routes consist of radial or loop power system interconnections shown on power system strategy maps in NEA.
