Abstract :
In this paper, we experimented on the UHF characteristics of PD monitoring in XLPE cable accessories, such as four different types of PD signals[1]: cavity discharge signal, protrusion discharge signal, surface discharge signal and floating discharge signal. Also, the influence of mobile signals interference was discussed. The results showed that the mobile signal´s spectrum is broad when the phone signals are emited. The proper UHF measuring band was confirmed by simulation analysis, experiment in laboratory and test on site, it is between 1.2GHz to 1.6GHz. On-site PD detection had approved that this measuring band can suppress the interference effectively, and the detection sensitivity can reach to 48pC
