Abstract
We will show efficient slow light generation that is based on Brillouin amplification in non-silica based optical fibers with large nonlinear coefficients. We particularly demonstrate efficient delaying of light by 40-60 ns using chalcogenide and tellurite fibers of only a few meters in length.
