  • Abstract
The Erasmus MC care, research and education Information Lifecycle Management challenge Erasmus MC is confronted with a true explosion of digital data. Besides MR/CT/.. Image data more and more genomics, spectroscopy and video data is generated. To secure the availability of all this content for the future a Digital Research Repository development has been started. An institutional repository process like Erasmus is not limited to institutions with a research function. It´s crucial not to expect that the data management problem will be solved with one (technology) solution. The repository service starts with the endusers of the information. It requires a continuous collaboration process between users, data/information managers, IT department and suppliers. Departments purchase repository capacity on demand and have internal agreements with their IT department about usage and availability service levels. Each institutions runs big risks if this internal collaboration (information lifecycle management) process is not started.
