Abstract
Goal Structuring Notation is an argument or logic-based methodology that represents all aspects of a safety argument (requirements, claims, evidence and context) in an elegant and logical diagram. This method is considered attractive when addressing human factors aspects of a safety case because it can capture the relationships between the safety argument elements. This is important for human factors aspects of the safety case since they can be widely distributed through the system(s). In this paper the authors use a simple human factors integration construct to map human factors arguments onto a generic GSN model. This ensures that equipment-operator relationships and risks to personnel safety are captured.
