Abstract
Collaborative optimization (CO), one of the multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO) approaches, is a two-level optimization method for large-scale and distributed-analysis engineering design problem. In the practice of engineering design and manufactures, there are lots of uncertain or fuzzy parameters, which will lead to the final optimal objectives, are fuzzy sets as well. This paper proposes the use of fuzzy satisficing and sufficiency degree model in place of the system-level and discipline-level optimizations in order to relieve the aforementioned difficulties, and sets the acceptance level as the shared design variable between disciplines, which is maximized in the system level. The illustrative mathematical example is provided to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
