Abstract
This paper presents the principle of long stator linear synchronous motor (LSLSM) and introduces the mathematic modeling of LSLSM. A comparative study of three kinds of field oriented control (FOC) methods including the stator field oriented control (SFOC), airgap field oriented control (AFOC) and rotor field oriented control (RFOC) is given in detail. Comparison results show that for the demands of high performance operation of maglev vehicle, the RFOC control method is most suited for LSLSM control due to the decoupling of armature field and excitation field.
