Abstract :
This paper presents a hybrid current modulation of matrix converter (MC) based on the space vector modulation and SPWM in order to attain a high input power factor and a good output performance. Then the vector control system of matrix converter and permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is realized with the proposed modulation. The virtual DC voltage and current expressions in every switching period are derived in order to clarify the principle of the hybrid modulation. Then the feasibility of the hybrid modulation is also proved. Finally, the prototype of MC is completed, and the simulation and experiment results show that the PMSM system of MC based on the hybrid modulation not only attain the good control performance, but also achieve the high input power factor.
