Abstract
Failures of equipments for train control systems are linked directly to extensive damages of human lives or financial losses from the increasing uses of train control equipments utilizing computers. Then safety activities for assuring safety and reliability are needed during the system life-cycle. Risk assessment is important phase to increase safety from determining the risk presented by the identified hazard. In this paper, we examine the methods for risk analysis and assessment of safety activities and propose optimized one method for risk estimation. In the comparison of risk graph and risk matrix method for safety estimation, proposed BP(best practice)-risk method combines the most beneficial properties of commonly used approaches.
