  • Abstract
Permanent magnet brushless DC motors possess high efficiency and high energy density, so they are provided with the features of saving energy and high power volume ratio. These features fit traction drive for Electric vehicle and railway trains excellently. An advance angle technique extends the constant power speed-adjust scope, and advance angle affect the electromagnetic performance of brushless DC motors. The influence of advance angle on electromagnetic field and torque of brushless DC motors were studied with finite element method and analytical method.
