An Intelligent Data Miner Tool for a Publication Database

Data mining, the non-trivial process of extraction of hidden and previously unknown information from databases finds varied applications ranging from business management to market analysis to forecasting. This paper correlates the data mining techniques of clustering, classification and association rule mining in the domain of publication databases. The CLIMAX clustering algorithm is employed to cluster the existing titles followed up by an efficient classification strategy to identify the title disciplines at varied levels of the classification hierarchy. Related publication titles are mined by employing the progressive partition miner association rule mining strategy.
