Abstract :
Fingerprint recognition is a very popular biometric technique for personal identification. In this paper, we have proposed a faster minutiae extraction and matching algorithm. An alignment based minutiae matching algorithm has been employed. The experimental results reveal that this system achieves a good performance on the standard databases. A complete authentication procedure, on an average takes about 2.56 seconds on a Pentium Dual core Processor.
