Abstract :
A novel scheme for transmitting H.264/AVC video streams under error-prone environments is presented in this paper. The proposed scheme exploits a slice grouping method which bases on a macroblock (MB)- activity measure, and employs an effective unequal error protection (UEP) scheme using Turbo-codes as forward error correction (FEC) tools to the output H.264/AVC streams. Experiments show that our proposed UEP approach outperforms the conventional H.264/AVC error-resilient method.
