Abstract
Smart antenna sizes are too large to be implemented in indoor environments. Spatial diversity is too complicated to perform a fast deployment. An alternative design for such an application is proposed, trying to obtain the benefits of spatial diversity but using only one compact antenna. The presented design is based on monopole antenna, and fits the requirements for DCS (1710-1880 MHz) and UMTS (1900-2170 MHz) applications.
