Abstract :
This paper presents preliminary results of a study on a low cost steerable beam planar antenna for SRD (short range devices) applications, in the frequency range 2.40-2.48 GHz. The antenna consists of an array of 4times4 elements on a regular rectangular lattice, fed by a microstrip BFN. The beam steering is in one plane, and is obtained by a single analog voltage control of a number of diodes used as voltage controlled capacitors. Experimental results for the phase shifters and for the array well fit with the theoretical analysis.
