Abstract
Aim of this paper is to devise and assess a simplified Green function, which can allow an accurate and effective MoM analysis of a patch over an AMC-backed substrate. We demonstrate that, since the periodicity of the AMC is small compared to the wavelength, while the substrate thickness is relatively large, a Floquet mode with (uo, vo) in the visible space sees the AMC as an admittance surface. This simplified Green Function and admittance surface model has been validated for typical periodic surfaces.
