Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of wave propagation over irregular terrain. Two different ways to solve this problem is considered here. Specific diffraction models, each one associated to a given geometry (smooth spherical earth, rounded obstacles and terrain discontinuity) and a general solution represented by an integral equation. The adoption of one solution or another is closely related to the profile of the radio path which is being studied.
