Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to present opportunities afforded by a small remote controlled airship for propagation measurements in basic urban scenarios. Experiments were proposed in the 2.0 - 6.0 GHz frequency bands. An example of measured data at the 2.0 GHz is presented. The goal is to obtain experimental data that can be used for planning of mobile communication systems delivered via high altitude platforms. The impact of shadowing effects of buildings and the penetration loss into the buildings is shown.
