Abstract
Radiated UWB pulses distort at angles away from the bore- sight of the antenna aperture, when the transmitting sources and the antenna or array are comparable in electrical size. Characterization and modelling of such system are important, especially with elliptic or circular-like polarizations in UWB radar. We have proposed a method to model the source and antenna array for UWB. In addition, we have also investigated the effects of elliptic or circular-like polarisations of such systems and validate with experiments using an array of two horn antennas.
