Abstract
A rigorous semi-analytical solution is presented for electromagnetic scattering from an array of parallel-coated circular cylinders of arbitrary radii and positions due to an obliquely incident TMz plane wave excitation. In order to check the validity of this technique, the 2-D echo width of a linear array of cylinders and an arbitrary position array of metamaterial cylinders are calculated and compared with published data. Circular metamaterial cylinders are then used to show the effect of metamaterial characteristics in altering the near field forward and backward scattering for conducting strips. Furthermore, characteristic of metamaterial is used to focus the field in front of a corner reflector antenna.
