Abstract :
The paper discusses the dipole antenna optimization procedure. The first part is focused on the choice of the fitness function in order to optimize the ultra wideband dipole antennas for impulse radiation, especially for minimization of the radiated impulse distortion and reduction of antenna reflections. The second part deals with the implementation and improvements of the particle swarm optimization method (PSO). The number of swarms is extended in order to reach better global maximum seeking. The parallelization of the solved tasks (particles) is used during the optimization process. The comparison of the classical and improved PSO method is presented. The final part presents the obtained results of unique optimized dipole shapes with basic wideband dipoles. The obtained parameters and characteristics are also presented.
