Abstract :
In this paper a novel design approach of the elliptical E- shaped patch antenna is presented. In the presented approach, by using the particle swarm method, some modifications have been realized to the incorporated slots and feed position, which lead to even more enhancement in the antenna bandwidth. details of the antenna design approach and experimental results are presented and discussed. Practical measurements are in a high compatibility with the simulation results. This Antenna has a novel feed structure that eliminates the above limitations of probe-fed E-shaped patch antennas. Simulation result illustrates about 37% fractional bandwidth at the frequency band of 1.8 GHz-2.7 GHz with particle swarm algorithm. This method compared with genetic algorithm and shows that faster convergence in antenna bandwidth. Finally radiation pattern results of the E-plane and H-plane are presented.
